1 Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using EdTecInfo ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to edtecinfo.com and all subdomains, tools, and features we provide. They also apply when you access the Service through a mobile app, embed, or API.

2 Eligibility

You may use EdTecInfo if:

• You are at least 13 years old, OR
• You are under 13 and have verifiable parental or guardian consent, OR
• You are using the Service through a school or educational institution with proper authorization

By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3 Your account

You can use most tools without creating an account. If you do create one:

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must provide accurate information when signing up
• You must not share your account credentials with others
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without notice or refund.

4 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload, share, or process illegal content (including child sexual abuse material, terrorism content, or malicious software)
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Scrape, crawl, or automate requests in a way that overloads our servers
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code beyond what's provided
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Distribute spam, malware, or phishing content through our platform
• Interfere with the Service's operation or security features
• Use the Service in a way that infringes anyone's intellectual property

If you violate these rules, we may terminate your access immediately.

5 Intellectual property

5.1 Our content

EdTecInfo owns:

• The website design, layout, and branding
• Original articles, guides, and educational content we write
• Our logo, name, and visual identity
• Original source code we develop

You may use our content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not resell or redistribute it without permission.

5.2 Your content

You retain full ownership of any content you create or process using our tools. Since our tools process everything in your browser, we never receive your content in the first place.

5.3 Third-party content

We aggregate publicly available content — fonts, data, formulas, images, and references — under fair use principles. All rights remain with the original creators. If you believe your content has been used improperly, please see our DMCA Policy.

6 Third-party services

Our Service integrates with:

• Google (OAuth sign-in, optional Drive access)
• Microsoft (OAuth sign-in)
• Google Fonts (typography)

Your use of these services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their policies, actions, or availability.

7 Availability

EdTecInfo is provided free of charge, on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee:

• Continuous or uninterrupted access
• Error-free operation
• That the Service will meet your specific requirements
• That we will maintain any specific feature indefinitely

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we discontinue a major feature, we'll give reasonable notice.

8 Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We specifically disclaim:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties of non-infringement
• Warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content
• Warranties that the Service will be free of viruses or other harmful components

Specific to our tools:

• Font downloads — We verify sources but do not guarantee every font works on every device
• File converters — We test extensively but do not guarantee 100% accuracy on every file format
• GPA calculators, date converters — Results are informational; always verify with official sources
• News content — We aggregate from public sources; always verify critical information

9 Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EDTECINFO AND ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits
• Business interruption or loss of opportunity
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service

Because EdTecInfo is provided free of charge, in no event shall our total liability exceed NPR 1,000 (one thousand Nepali Rupees).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

10 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EdTecInfo, its founders, contributors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your use of the Service in a way that causes harm to others
• Content you process, submit, or share through the Service

11 Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, use the option in /settings or email us at [email protected].

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without notice, if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Pose a security risk to other users or the Service
• Repeatedly infringe copyrights (see our DMCA Policy)

After termination, these Terms continue to apply to past use.

12 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.

For users outside Nepal: you agree to comply with all applicable local laws when using the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

13 Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll:

1. Update the "Last updated" date at the top
2. Send an email notification to registered users
3. Show a banner on the homepage for 14 days

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms. If you disagree, please stop using the Service.
